About us
We are a thriving Baptist church in the town of Bay Minette, Alabama. Our staff and members strive to further our knowledge of Jesus and reach out to our community with the love of Christ and the Gospel.

Our Sunday morning Bible study classes begin at 9:30AM and worship begins at 10:45. There are a variety of topics and times offered for Growth Groups. Many classes are Sunday evenings while several are offered during the week on different days and times.
Join us on Wednesday night with supper at 5PM, followed by children missions activities and student worship beginning at 5:30PM, and prayer meeting at 6PM.

Dr. Chip Starnes
Senior Pastor
Dr. Chip Starnes has served as the senior pastor at First Baptist Church since 2007.
Prior to coming to Bay Minette, Chip pastored churches in Mississippi for fifteen years. His passion is to teach and preach the powerful, life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. Chip holds a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Beeson Divinity School of Samford University, a Master of Divinity Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mississippi College.
Chip and his wife Darlene have one daughter, Rebecca and one son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Lauren, and two grandsons, Ethan and Nathan.
Chip enjoys spending time with his family, reading, hunting and college football.
Jann Trawick
Administrator
Jan has served as administrator since October 2022.
Jann grew up in First Baptist Church and is married to David Trawick. Together they have three children, Kimberly, Lauren and David Jr.; as well as nine grandchildren.
Jann is delighted to be back in Bay Minette near family as she serves her "home" church.

She enjoys teaching, singing, serving other and spending time on the beautiful Gulf Coast.

Corey Stringer
Worship Pastor
Corey has been serving as Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church since 2021.
Before coming to First Baptist, Corey served churches in the metro Birmingham area for almost nine years. He received a Bachelor of Science in Worship Leadership from the University of Mobile in 2013 and then went on to receive a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from Liberty Theological Seminary in 2016.
Corey and his wife Amy have two daughters, Adalyn and Lydia. Corey loves spending time with his family, hosting people at their home, hitting theme parks for vacation, and sports.

Megan has been serving as the Children’s Ministry Director since December of 2017.
Previously she served as Child Development Center Director beginning in 2011.

Megan has been married to her husband, Matt since 1998. They have two children, Emma and Matthew.
Megan is a graduate of Auburn University and enjoys spending time with her family, reading and traveling.
Ben has been serving with First Baptist since 2020.
Ben has been married to his wife Kacie since 2008; and they have two daughters, Addy and Blake.
Previously, Ben worked for over 20 years in video production and journalism. His time in that realm spanned across the television, radio, and print arenas. His most previous position in production was working as a news director for a small television station in Meridian, Mississippi.
Ben and his family love living close to the Gulf of Mexico, which is one of their favorite destinations.
Mark has served as the Youth Pastor since 2014.
Mark has been married to his bride, Tabetha, since 2011. Tabetha is a Physical Education teacher at Baldwin County High School. They both are graduates of Auburn University and are avid sports fans. They have two sons, Noah, born 2013, and Hutch, born 2018.
Mark received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University in Secondary Education with a focus in Biological Sciences in 2007. He then received his Master of Divinity with a focus in Youth Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2011.
Mark enjoys complete chaos with his family, hunting, fishing, and dominating teenagers in every game.
Tina Haskew
Publications
Tina is wife to Eric, and Mom to Sarah, Daniel, and Noah.
She has been with FBC since 2016.
Outside of working for FBC and being a mom of three, she teaches the two-year-old Sunday School class, and sings with the FBC Choir.
Tina enjoys reading and cheering on her children in all their music activities.
Christine Stewart
Receptionist
Christine is married to Charles (Chip) and is Mom to Charles and Megan.

She has been with FBC since June of 2021.
​
Christine loves anything outdoors, hiking, fishing, boating, and camping.
She also volunteers at the USS Alabama in Mobile, Ala.
Cathy Reynolds
Child Development Center Director
Cathy began working with FBC on November 18, 2014.
Previously, she was the director of a child care center in Escambia County Florida. She also taught K4 preschool for 14 years at FBC Atmore. She presently holds a Level One Directors Credential through the state of Florida and has received her Alabama Early Learning Guidelines Credential through the Alabama Department of Human Resources.
Cathy has been married to her husband, Jimmy for 43 years. They have two children, LeAnna Greenwood and Matthew Reynolds as well as five grandchildren.
Her hobbies consist of camping, fishing, reading and spending time with family.
Angie Roley
Financial Secretary
Angie has been serving in her position at FBC since 2024.
She is the mom of two sons, Joshua and Patrick, and "Gee" to eight grandchildren.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, kayaking, and water activities.
